REPORTING TO: CEO

Scope of Work:
The Marketing & PR Manager is responsible for generating and managing all brand communications and public messaging on behalf of tzNIC. He/ She is the positive voice of the organisation and must constantly represent the centre as a brand ambassador ensuring opportunities for positive brand building are effectively capitalised on and that there is high awareness and positive engagement between the tzNIC and the community enhanced by strategic PR opportunities and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage all marketing materials including website updates and social media presence;
Create and implement an annual strategic marketing plan in line with allocated budget;
Responsible for developing brand guidelines for tzNIC ensuring they are consistently adhered to in all communications and supports in ghost writing articles on behalf of the organisation;
The first and last point of contact for approval of marketing materials before publishing /distributing ensuring formatting is in line with brand guidelines;
Responsible for development and distribution of corporate messaging e.g. PR statements ensuring alignment with legal manager and CEO & company policy;
Proactively seek opportunities to advance the .tz brand through various channels e.g. publications, digital media, speaking opportunities, conference participation, application for awards and other forms of advertising;
Prepare and manage all marketing materials as needed including procurement and selection of marketing consultants and strategic partners (ensuring buy-in from management team)
Any other duties prescribed by the CEO in accordance with company policy.


Qualifications:

A Bachelors Degree in Marketing I Public Relations (PR) i Business Studies
Proven track record in managing successful brand and marketing campaigns for reputable organisations.
Must have at least 3 years' direct brand, marketing and PR experience with a track record of developing effective marketing strategies.
Masters Degree is an added advantage

RESEARCH SCIENTIST POSITION
Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College is a constituent College of Tumaini University Makumira. The college is based at Moshi and owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania. The college trains health professionals for various university awards in clinical and health sciences. It currently wishes to recruit a competent and committed candidate for the position of RESEARCH SCIENTIST under PAMVERC PROGRAM- KCMUCo, Moshi

Information about PAMVERC PROGRAM
The Pan African Malaria Vector Control Research Consortium (PAMVERC), is a research partnership between London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) and the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University Centre (KCMUCo) in Tanzania, is a research alliance that develops and evaluates new malaria vector control tools with a primary focus on IRS and LLINs. The Consortium has trial sites in Moshi (Kilimanjaro region), Muheza (Tanga region), Muleba (Kagera region), and Benin and Cote d’Ivoire (West Africa).
The Trial site in Moshi is OECD- GLP compliant and is expecting to receive requests from industrial partners to do research development evaluation studies to a GLP standard. The appointed scientist will therefore be expected to take a leading role in these studies.

Required Qualification


  • Minimum Msc Degree in Medical Entomology or equivalent
  • Additional specific training in relevant fields including Statistics, Research Methodology, Research Management and GLP
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • At least two years research experience in relevant fields
  • Good publication record


Duties and responsibilities


  • Conduct and supervise GLP and Non-GLP studies on insecticides for control of malaria and other disease vectors
  • Serve as a Study Director for non-GLP studies
  • Supervise and co-supervise research students from KCMC and LSHTM
  • Prepare research plans for research project
  • Ascertain that management have committed adequate resources to perform the study, and that adequate test materials and test systems are available
  • Overview study procedures and data collection to ensure procedures are being followed and compliant with SOPs
  • To remain aware of progress of study at all times, by keeping effective communication with all staff involved
  • Keep inventory of lab equipment’s and supplies, making sure that a stock of consumables and reagent of minimum 3 months testing
  • Liaise with the procurement companies to ensure that the products to be ordered are available and up to date for the various techniques/ check if products are upgraded throughout the year and new supplies required by manufacturer for each technique
  • Prepare periodic reports for sharing with sponsors and PAMVERC staff
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication of complete work, in consultation with senior management staff
  • Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings

Salary scale:
Salary for the post will be according to PGSS scales

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all reinsurance transactions are booked in the business systems and are fully integrated and recorded in the general ledger.
Prepare monthly reinsurance payable/receivable statements and circulate the same to the relevant reinsurance participants to facilitate timely payment of the same.
Prepare Quarterly Treaty accounts and submit the same to the Reinsurers and/or Brokers by the 15th of the month following quarter close

Coordinate collection of all Excess of Loss claims recoveries within 60 days from the date of claims settlement.
Liaise with the Claims and Underwriting department (including General & Medical Insurance) on matters of reinsurance claims and provision of relevant documents to facilitate recovery collections.
Prepare Reinsurance quarterly returns for submission to TIRA by the 15th of the month following quarter close.
Provide reinsurance support to the reinsurance team for treaty renewal and submission of relevant forms and data to TIRA for the Annual licensing requirements.
Monitor and track collection of all cash calls as initiated by the Reinsurance team. 
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar qualification
CPA (T) or equivalent professional Qualification
Five (5) years’ experience in a similar position desirable

• Develop, manage and coordinate an effective and efficient county-level results-based monitoring and evaluation system for Amref Health Africa – Tanzania

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER: BASED IN DAR ES SALAAM

REPORT TO: THE COUNTRY DIRECTOR
JOB OBJECTIVE:-
To provide strategic and operational leadership in Administration, social enterprise and Security functions. Ensure that administrative operations of Am ref Health Africa Tanzania country program run efficiently in cost effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Custodian of all administrative functions, spearheads general administrative functions of the country office and provide support to projects.
• Develop and implement annual work plans for administrative functions with support to projects, and give technical support in administration related areas
• Development and maintenance administrative systems, policies and procedures.
• Maintenance and insurance of all organizational assets and ensure conducive working environment for staff with optimal use of organizational resources.
• Coordinate booking of meeting rooms ,arranging staff and visitors travels and accommodations
• Manage stock taking and disposal of Amref’s obsolete assets in line with policies and procedures guideline.
• Ensure vehicle are Managed as per policies and procedures across the organization.
• Establish fuel and vehicle maintenance monitoring system to promote efficiency and effectiveness in vehicle use.
• Provide oversight in the skills acquisition staff on safety and security for Amref’s assets and staff at all times.
• Contract management for contractors I providers of goods and services and overall oversight on properties, house rent, legal cases, vendors and others that need the attention of administration unit.
• Oversee training of Amref staff on safety procedures and first aid care giving compliance to standard operation procedures by Amref staff and high performance by security service providers
• Ensure services of utility are properly delivered and payments to the services are paid in time
• Supervise cleaning service providers and messenger
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor on daily basis in relation to your position.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Management or other related fields. Masters in Business Administration will be an added advantage
• Excellent administration. At least two (2) years experience in office administration in a busy organization.
• Experience of working in NGO is an asset.

Description
EFC Tanzania is a Microfinance Bank that provides financial services i.e. taking deposits and providing loans to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals. The bank is growing fast with the focus of reaching out to the unbanked business by growing its network throughout Tanzania in the coming years. To accomplish this, the bank needs to recruit Executive Assistant who is competent, analytical, experienced and hardworking individuals determined to go extra mile for their career growth and future.

Position Objectives
It is the primary objective of the Executive Assistant to provide various administrative, project management, and organization support to the MD ensuring timely execution and follow ups as required. This is a key strategic position for highly motivated candidates only as they will work closely with MD on all matters involving the management of a bank.

Duties & Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible to assist the MD by providing comprehensive governance, company secretary, management, administrative and communications support. The responsibilities could be expanded with that of a Company Secretary depend on the candidate.

The principal responsibilities are to:

Support the MD regarding activities related to the management of human, financial and material resources;
Provide project management oversight support for ongoing projects;
Assist the MD with the organization and follow-up of meetings and appointments, travel;
Gather data, build and/or maintain Excel-based files, prepare correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports;
Contribute to the development and preservation of a collaborative team environment with all EFC personnel;
Implement and manage a practical, efficient and functional document filing and management system;
Perform general office administrative tasks related to greeting of visitors, word processing and document management.

Other tasks and responsibilities that will enable the fulfillment of the above noted responsibilities include:

Maintaining the office diary for the MD and ensuring important meetings/activities are logged and reminders provided;
Organizing various meetings (i.e. Shareholder, Board, Management etc.) and attending to record minutes as required;
Performing administrative tasks related to the processing and distribution of mail and phone calls, drafting and editing of documents, minutes, compiling of data and producing various reports as required;
Ensuring efficient document management and updating of files (i.e. opening, closing, classification, access control, circulation, filing, etc.) in respect of EFC policies and standards;
Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring confidential files, documents and information is properly preserved and secured;
Supporting various operations related to the correct operation of the computer system and of the security of the premises, equipment and valuables;
Ensuring all communication to and from the MD are attended to on time and all concerns by staff are brought to his/her attention in a timely manner;
Ensuring the prudent use of systems and tools by the resources of the institution and making recommendations to improve the efficiency of the operational processes;
Establishing and coordinating the implementation of company administrative polices;
Performance of any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the MD.

Qualifications & Requirements (i.e. education, skills and experience)
The Executive Assistant requires good practical knowledge of executive administrative and governance / company secretarial support functions in the financial services sector. In this regard, specific qualifications and requirements include:

Master’s Degree preferably Law or in Business studies;
Preferably experience in dealing with Board Members and /or stakeholders;
Three years relevant experience;
Excellent planning, organisational, problem solving and report writing skills;
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
Excellent interpersonal skills in a cross-cultural environment;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, etc.).
Able to work with deadlines and flexible working hours if required;
